Job Overview

Incumbent provides civil engineering support in the design, construction, & maintenance of any & all facilities requirements. Reviews project specifications such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, evaluation of field conditions, design changes, & reports. Conducts materials testing & analysis, using tools & equipment & applying engineering knowledge necessary to conduct tests. Prepares reports detailing tests conducted & their results. Surveys project sites to obtain & analyze topographical details of sites. Manages assigned projects to ensure that programming requirements, design requirements, and funding coordination are complete in order to deliver complete projects, ready for construction contract award. Manages civil design process and orchestrates the planning, design, cost estimating, and phased scheduling for projects.

This position is contingent upon contract award.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
  • Supports civil engineering projects during construction, including coordinating answers to requests for information, change orders, and solving problems that arise in the field.
  • Responsible for civil planning and design work for substantial multi-phase new construction, renovation, and improvement projects for a variety of real property facilities.
  • Utilizes a professional knowledge of civil, standard engineering theory and techniques, and Air Force/DOD codes and regulations to perform requirements determinations, technical assistance, and conventional design work.
  • Verifies that programming, design requirements, and funding coordination is complete for each phase of a project.
  • Consulting engineer for civil related design aspects of assigned projects. Provides professional consultations on a broad range of difficult civil engineering issues and problems, and advice to requesting organizations.
  • Assist in determining requirements, assembling requirements document, attending RFP/Design charrettes and the RFP/Design processes.
  • Engages Engineering Support personnel for computer aided design and drafting (CADD) and for sketch production using GIS.
  • Promotes sustainable design and development principles in professional activities.
  • Promotes and supports company safety program.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university program.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Project Engineer or Requirements Engineer in the field of civil engineering.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level.
  • Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • Fluent in oral and written English language.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
