THE JOB

WM is seeking a motivated college student, preferably a rising junior or senior, with a science and or engineering passion to advance the CAHNR Cannabis Program. This position will involve research into the automation and efficiency of cannabis production in the state of Connecticut. Over the summer you will be involved in research, development, and deployment of electrical engineering efficiency studies of Cannabis production equipment and facilities, analysis of this data, and proposals to make improvements. Deployment of energy-saving automated systems as well as scientific research of yield optimization using existing life science industry instrumentation & SCADA batching technologies. This role is also open to graduating seniors, interested in developing project management capabilities, with the possibility of rolling into a full-time role at the end of the internship timeframe.

Duration: Flexible start and end date, standard June-August

THE DAY-TO-DAY - Work directly with our Project Management Team:

  • Business development, communications, research, and tenacity building relationships with stakeholders in the CT Cannabis industry
  • Researching prospects, communicating capabilities, formulating solutions, deploying assets
  • Performing business development & communications for other industry verticals WM serves
  • Managing vendor and client relations to ensure service expectations are met
  • Assist in the management of the WM University programming & communication
