The Laboratory Analyst provides technical support and guidance to users of computer systems. This position assists the Laboratory IT Manager with daily tasks and IT projects.
Responsibilities
Responsible for Installation of basic pieces of hardware such as printers, CPUs, monitors, keyboards, etc.
Installs/validates/troubleshoots interfaces.
Performs database maintenance on multiple systems, requiring good communication with laboratory staff as well as with information technology staff.
Responsible for keeping Laboratory Management aware of Laboratory Information Systems staff needs, such as training or equipment, validation of all systems that would utilize laboratory data.
Writes and performs policies and procedures as required by regulatory agencies, internal management, or as otherwise required.
Responsible for keeping Laboratory Management aware of system needs, such as for software/hardware upgrades, system maintenance, any costs that may be incurred as related to the Laboratory computer systems, new technology that would enhance current processes.
Creates custom reports utilizing the laboratory databases, transmission of laboratory results/reports to internal and external customers via fax, interface, or other electronic means.
Is available for off hour call, to include access to phone service and internet with computer service during these off hours.
Is responsible for the fiscal management of section; ensures proper utilization of organization's financial resources.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Sciences Required or
Equivalent that would qualify for Florida State license
Minimum Work Experience
3 years Experience as Medical Technologist Required
Licenses and Certifications
Clinical Lab Technologist Licensed State of Florida Upon Hire Required or
Clinical Laboratory Supervisor Licensed State of Florida Upon Hire Required
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Experience working with computer applications, software, hardware, etc.
Good communication skills
Must have a strong desire to learn new technology.
