Position Summary:

The Transfer Evaluation Manager is responsible for management and evaluation of all in

bound post-secondary transcripts, test credit and articulated credit (including but not limited to credit for military and law enforcement experience). Analyzes and identifies transfer equivalencies by aligning student learning objectives of the incoming course against the SPC course catalog.

Develops and maintains transfer equivalency rules in multiple systems and is the collegewide administrator for Brainware, the college's data extraction application, and Transfer Evaluation Services, a College Source product uses to publish transfer equivalencies.

Ensures integration of Brainware with college's imaging system and Peoplesoft Campus Solutions is functioning; works directly with Information Technologies (IT), Campus Solutions Peoplesoft (CSPS) team and other offices to troubleshoot issues and test fixes.

Supervises and provides direction to a team of Academic Records Specialists responsible for insuring transcripts are evaluated and posted accurately in Campus Solutions; hires, trains, evaluates and terminates staff in these positions. Liaison to Deans, Program Directors, Workforce, Advising Managers and other campus staff regarding transfer articulation; develops and delivers college-wide training.

Reports too and provides direct support to the Assistant Director of Admissions. Assists with database maintenance, including research and data entry. Assists with testing of new applications and existing functionality with system upgrades; identifies test cases and works directly with internal and external technical staff as required. Applies high level of technical proficiency to initiate continual improvements with existing processes, system upgrades and redesign.

Typical Essential Functions:

* Prepare and utilize a variety of reports, queries and metrics to determine the benchmarks for timely review, evaluation and posting of all transfer credit. Establish daily, weekly and monthly priorities for team to meet timelines and ensure service levels are met or exceeded. Provide monthly, quarterly and annual productivity reports.

* Communicate daily with direct reports, providing benchmarks, guidance and training to ensure processing goals are met; works with campus advising staff, Deans and Program Directors on resolving student issues; collaborates with Curriculum Services to identify new equivalencies based on curriculum changes, thereby increasing efficiencies and minimizing alternative satisfactions or individual student exceptions.

* Collaborate directly with Deans, Program Directors and members of Academic Affairs when exceptions should be considered, e.g. for students transferring from closing colleges or non-regionally accredited schools and organizations.

* Analyze system capabilities and implementing process and procedure changes to better utilize Campus Solutions and Brainware; coordinate with IT, CSPS and software vendors regarding software support and system enhancements; set up test scenarios and take lead in testing system fixes, upgrades and new functionality.

* Serve as active member of SOAR, SPC's cross-functional Systems Optimization and Redesign team; participates in FACARO, FCRAO and statewide listserve, consulting with colleagues at other state colleges on transfer evaluation and credit maximization issues.

* Remains current on college curriculum, policies and procedures; follows federal, state, college and department guidelines; complies with FERPA and other student record polices and procedures.

* Develop and deliver training to various constituencies, including but not limited to advising managers, career and academic advisors and student support staff collegewide; delivers presentations and training at collegewide Discovery Day and Spring Training Day.

As an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position, the expectation is for the incumbent to be in the office two to three days a week and engage in face-to-face collaborations. This arrangement allows for a balance between the benefits of working remotely, such as increased flexibility and reduced commuting time, and the advantages of in-person interaction, such as teamwork and collaboration.

This is the third of six levels in the Student Support Professional series. The classification is responsible for coordinating student services and activities in an assigned area. Overall, the Transfer Evaluation Manager's expertise and knowledge are essential for facilitating the seamless transfer of credits for students and maintaining the integrity of academic standards within the institution.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree

Experience:

Four years' experience in higher education, experience at state or community college level preferred

Experience with systems management preferred

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
