Compensation: $17.36 - $21.05 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports theatrical productions in one of several ways such as: coordinating the scheduling and production aspects of an assigned performance space; deploying, operating and maintaining all sound reinforcement equipment for a performing arts theater; maintaining all sound boards, consoles, PA speakers, amplifiers, and all associated cabling; coordinating all front of house activities; installing, and utilizing sets, sound, and lighting; being present at events; repairing and maintaining equipment; maintaining records; and preparing operational reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Manages theatre schedules and shared calendars for multiple college constituents to ensure the efficiency of theatre usage; specifies and schedules appropriate equipment for the events; interacts with clients as needed; and ensures contract obligations are met.

* Participates in the planning, directing, and coordinating of the operational strategies; provides recommendations on purchasing and capital improvement initiatives.

Continuous maintenance of Theater tools, lighting/sound equipment/storage areas and coordinates projects with SPC facilities department.

Attends weekly Theater and production classes, serving as a classroom assistant for the instructor.

* Coordinates the production sets and plans; monitors the work of SPC facilities and outside vendors.

* Plans and coordinates box office sales, which includes: assessing customer needs; determining discounts and pricing structures; supervising cash handling procedures; and monitoring security activities of the theater.

* Monitors the installation and testing of audio, lighting, and video systems; coordinates the technical and support staff.

* Maintains a variety of records, preparing and reviews calendars, campus events, and operational reports for Theater, Fine Arts and Humanities.

* Supervises staff and students to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations for student workers.

* Assists with budgeting/expense functions. Reconciles all P-card purchases in a timely manner.

* Develops, delivers, and supports related theater educational programs.

* Depending on assignment, constructs sets and technical engineering for theatrical productions which includes: developing plans for sound engineering, scenery; constructing scenery and installing sets, sound, and lighting; and performing related duties.

* Depending on assigned area, monitors and maintains equipment and inventory, purchases supplies and materials as necessary for Theater, Fine Arts and Humanities.

* May operate sound reinforcement for live performances.

* May create and reconcile box office paperwork.

* May supervise student theater technicians, stagehands, and student interns; manage volunteers; and assist patrons.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Associate's degree; five (5) years of related work experience supporting theater productions; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

* Reconcile financial information.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Valid Florida Driver's License.

TYPE OF WORK

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position has a flexible schedule including occasional nights/weekends.

This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the employee's physical presence at the workplace.

May be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, inadequate lighting, and work-space restrictions.
