The Supply Controller is in charge of managing and coordinating financial activities related to the procurement of satellite's parts and equipment. This area represents a large cost for the company and his/her task is to guarantee accuracy and reliability of the data reported, ensure consistencies within the financial tools, and support the business in making cost efficient decisions. The team member acts as a focal point supporting a team of Supply Chain Managers, and is the guardian of the financial data reported. The controller's role is also to work closely with the accounting and consolidation team members to assist with daily/monthly closing activities.


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
    1. Develop and maintain financial models to forecast supply chain costs, including raw materials, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution.
    2. Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the supply chain, and provide actionable insights to optimize performance.
    3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and long-term financial plans for the supply chain function



    1. Cost Management and Supply Chain OptimizationEvaluate and optimize supply chain processes to reduce costs while maintaining quality and efficiency.
    2. Implement cost-saving initiatives, such as supplier negotiations, process improvements, and inventory management strategies.
    3. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track cost-saving initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  1. EAC (Estimate at Completion) Reporting: The jobholder keeps track of the budget allocated to each of the satellite equipment, incorporating approved changes and forecasted costs.

  1. Cash Forecasting: The controller prepares cash forecasts on a monthly basis. It consists in phasing future costs over time and informing management of planned expenses. This activity involves various financial concepts detailed in the supplier contracts (i.e. Recurring costs, Termination Liabilities, Fees, Penalties, Late Deliveries, Incentives) and liaising with Supply Chain Managers.



  1. Actuals Reporting: He/her validates and reports actuals monthly (cash and cost). This activity includes the monitoring of incoming invoices and cash paid to our suppliers. This tasks also contains the reporting of foreign exchange impacts due to different trading currencies.

  1. Management accounting: The controller acts as management accountant by leading the invoicing structure upfront. He/her validates equipment prices, advance payments and associated reversals with the SC Managers. During execution of the contract the jobholder performs ongoing checks and leads corrective actions in order to ensure that the correct accounting treatment is implemented.

  1. On-demand reporting: The controller supports management with on-demand financial analysis required for supplier negotiations and provides ongoing assistance with strategic decisions.

  1. Program Close-Out: The controller is to help clean out and close current supplier financials on ending programs

  1. Financial Closing: The controller is to help and assist with the month and yearly financial closings with regards to the supplier's financial data.

  • ERP Assistance: The controller is to create Internal Orders linked to dedicated programs and help supply chain place the correct Purchase Orders associated to the allocated programs
    1. R&O reporting: The jobholder supports the reporting of Risks and Opportunities for the equipment procured. He/Her records the financial data resulting from mitigation plans and contributes to reaching the company's cost targets by liaising with the Risk manager.
  • Strategic Decision Support:
    1. Provide strategic financial guidance and support to supply chain leadership, including scenario analysis, investment evaluations, and business case development.
    2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the financial implications of supply chain decisions and initiatives.
    3. Participate in strategic planning sessions to align financial goals with overall business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in either Management Accounting or Financial Controller (Master's degree preferred) or other related degree
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is a plus
  • Minimum 10+ years experience within (either/or) Finance Controlling and Supply Chain
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems, financial modeling tools, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience in Supply Chain or Functional Supply Chain knowledge preferred

MISSIONS

  • Develop a strong working relationship with a network of Supply Chain Managers to support their daily financial activities including negotiations with suppliers
  • Ensure that the business is running effectively by helping management make cost effective decisions
  • Build a reliable interface between the Supply Chain and Accounting functions to validate and assist with correct accounting treatment in the financial systems
  • Identify where the finance team processes can be improved and implement changes

Physical Demand

Based on the position an employee is occasionally required to stand for an extended period of time; walk; reach above shoulders; and stoop, kneel, bend, twist or crouch.
