The Humanities and Communication Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Daytona Beach campus is seeking a non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor to teach speech and/or writing-intensive courses on our Daytona Beach campus, beginning fall semester 2024. This position includes a 4-4 teaching load with modest service expectations and the opportunity for research and travel support. Possible courses include first-year writing, technical writing, speech, and/or general education humanities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a record of teaching excellence at the college level, a commitment to general education, and a keen interest in the unique opportunity to teach writing and communication at a STEM-oriented institution. Preferred candidates will hold a Ph.D. or M.F.A. in English, communication, composition, or a closely related discipline.

Applicants must submit a CV, graduate transcripts, a list of three references, and a letter of application addressing their experience and philosophy of teaching. Review of candidates will begin immediately, and the position will remain open until filled.
