Job Description
Full-Time/Regular

STGi is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Finance/Accounting Analyst to support STGi Corporate Headquarters located in Arlington, VA.

Job Description:

Responsibilities/Duties:

This person will back up multiple areas of finance and accounting so the following is a list of some of the capabilities but not all.

  • Processing of vendor & consultants invoices and cut checks weekly.
  • Processing of electronic consultant timesheets.
  • Producing 1099's at year end.
  • Filing of all vendor invoices weekly.
  • Processing of Employees Travel Advances and Expense Reports.
  • Corporate Credit Card Reconciliation.
  • Reconciliation of all balance sheet and income accounts.
  • Research accounting discrepancies and resolve with adjusting journal entries.
  • Review monthly billing and correctness of Project Status Reports.
  • Downloading of bank statements and posting cash receipts to the proper contracts.
  • Recording of incoming checks to the proper charge codes and ensuring timely bank deposits.
  • Analyzing unidentifiable cash receipts and communicating with Program Managers, Billing Departments and Government Agencies for resolution.
  • Identifying outstanding receivables and generating status reports for management.
  • Informing the Billing Department of cash receipt discrepancies and processing of billing adjustments.
  • Providing forecasts on future incoming cash receipts for the cash flow projection on a weekly basis.
  • Working with billing department on billed receivables analysis.
  • Assist the Project Accountant with the analysis of direct labor rates & budgets.
  • Assists the Assistant Controller/Controller with monthly closing.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong attention to detail and proficient analytical skills.
  • Must have basic knowledge of MS Excel & Word
  • Ability to work flexible schedule
Required Experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting systems including Deltek and/or Costpoint.
  • Knowledge of Government contracts
