Health Equity Analytic Intern Summary The Analytics Team at Bind is focused on understanding the ways in which Bind is working and the ways in which Bind can improve. We drive analytics that look at the consumer experience with Bind and the health care system, the health status of our members, how they utilize care and how those things relate to cost and affordability. Bind is especially interested in being a leader among health plans in understand and addressing health disparities among our members. As a data-driven organization, a key component of this effort are analytics that help us understand and improve in this area. Responsibilities * Focused project: collaborate with Analytics team members to better understand any potential disparities among Bind's membership and help us describe, in detail, the unique health and social needs of our BIPOC members * Other work: general analytic support to advance our understanding of Bind's performance Requirements * Rising college senior at a minimum strongly desired * Undergraduate coursework (or major, preferred) in statistics, econometrics, data science or other quantitative discipline * Available June 7 - August 13 * Passion for the ways in which analytics can help address and close health disparities * Strong knowledge of R and/or Python * Excellent teamwork and communication skills * Strong project and time management * Strong communication skills * Strong organizational skills * Flexible and can adapt to frequent changes Preferred Qualifications * Experience with health care data (e.g., claims, digital (click) or survey) * Knowledge of SQL * Knowledge of GitHub * Ability to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment * Willingness to be agile, ready to change direction on the fly What We're Offering * Chance to join a new tech start-up aiming to fix the healthcare industry * Empowerment to shape new solutions disrupting healthcare while providing benefits and choice to its members * Opportunity to work with people who are motivated to go to work every day and make a difference Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere.
