Position Details:You will help ensure we comply with import regulations and that import cargo is flowing through the supply chain by providing trade compliance expertise, leading our participation in CTPAT Security and other Trusted Trader programs, and managing daily import operations while providing support and analysis. You will also develop meaningful measures of broker performance, providing recommendations to address performance gaps, and auditing broker work to ensure quality. You will report to to the Senior Manager, Import Logistics & Compliance.
You Will:- Improve the efficiency of import logistics and supply chain by resolving compliance issues and identifying opportunities to improve processes ensuring product continues to flow and move without delay
- Minimize exposure to governmental penalties by ensuring company compliance with US Customs and Border Protection and other government agencies' laws and regulations
- Work with Customs officials to request Binding Rulings, respond to requests information (CF28 and CF29) and obtain guidance on port regulations
- Be a primary liaison for broker and suppliers to resolve import compliance issues and ensure shipments are delivered
- Lead our CTPAT Security Program Annual Certification efforts. Coordinate with applicable partners to ensure ongoing compliance with CTPAT Security Program criteria
- Manage changing priorities based on the needs of business
- Oversee the payment process for customs duties
- Maintain Import Compliance Manual and document process flows and SOPs
You Have:- Bachelor's degree in business or logistics, or equivalent related experience
- 3+ years of similar operational role at another large international shipper or broker
- Knowledge of U.S. import regulations, including areas such as classification, valuation, free trade agreements, special import programs (anti-dumping and countervailing cases), PGAs, entry process.
- Knowledge of CTPAT Security and Trade Compliance Programs
- Licensed customs broker or certified customs specialist or experience applying relevant import regulations
- Travel 5-10%
