Job Description
This position is responsible for the overall management of the material planning and procurement function, production planning, raw material, WIP and finished goods inventory control, shipping & receiving, and the material proposal group.  Key aspects include establishing strategic agreements and partnerships with key franchised suppliers, obtaining the best pricing and delivery available and implementing and maintaining systems that will provide accurate material tracking and forecasting.  
  • Directing multiple facets of Supply Chain management including demand management, material and production planning including establishing demand pull systems for internal suppliers as well as external suppliers, New Product Introduction (NPI), capacity planning, material cost reduction, material quoting/forward pricing, contract negotiation, logistics, warehousing, inventory management and controls to support multiple product value streams and markets.
  • Establish strategic direction for the Supply Chain organization to support business growth assuring cost, quality, delivery and working capital objectives are met.
  • Implement inventory programs designed to maximize schedule flexibility, minimize inventory exposure to the company, reduce the lead-time of product to our customers, and assure “world class” accuracy and inventory turns
  • Implement programs for cost reduction and lead-time reduction that support company objectives.  Measure and report on project status internally as well as to the customer.  Provide forward material price projections to support new business initiatives.
  • Identify priorities for Continuous Improvement initiatives using Six Sigma and Lean principles.  Facilitate, sponsor and direct Supply Chain resources for these initiatives to ensure improvements objectives are realized.
  • Ensure the Warehouse and Logistics team meet key metrics including kit releases for on time production starts, receiving cycle time, on time packaging and shipping, raw material cycle count accuracy, etc.
  • Coach, develop, and obtain top talent to meet/exceed all Supply Chain objectives.
  • Manage the Supply Chain Management departmental annual budget. Be aware and sensitive to company spending and take necessary action as appropriate.
  • Continue to monitor and improve the Supply Chain Management scorecard assuring the achievement of key metrics. Make variances to plan visible and develop/implement action plans.
  • Improve supplier payment terms with key suppliers, as needed.
  • Develop Supplier Governance/Scorecard program to partner with and hold suppliers accountable for OTD and quality.
  • Administers all Human Resources programs and policies (including selection, promotion, transfers, salary administration and termination) without regard to race, religion, sex, national origin, age, or handicap).

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline or Supply Chain Management; MBA or other advanced degree related to responsibilities preferred
  • 10 years of Material Management/Supply Chain leadership experience in a progressive multi-national manufacturing environment (contract manufacturer or OEM in defense aerospace and/or medical regulated industries)
  • Extensive experience in the implementation of progressive production management systems (Lean, Kanban, Min/Max, demand pull systems, Point of Use supermarkets, etc.)
  • Proven inventory management skills that ensure proper material asset turnover consistent with “world class” raw and WIP material accuracy and inventory turns
  • Extensive experience in negotiating strategic agreements and partnerships with key global suppliers as well as specific negotiating skills to achieve favorable prices, service, lead-time reduction and supply risk management
  • Demonstrated experience in leading Continuous Improvement programs/projects
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skill
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills.  Ability to lead the team setting aggressive goals and expectations, while motivating effectively in the achievement of these goals
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office applications)
  • Experience with ERP MRP & MPS application
  • ASCM (Association for Supply Chain Management) CPM, CPIM APICS or other industry certifications preferred
