Job Description
The Advanced Development Proposal Manager will capitalize on our expanding market opportunities and sustain and escalate the rate of Sypris’s recent business growth. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial, driven, and excited to grow a business with a strong base. This position will work in our Tampa, FL facility.

- Responsible for executing the Company’s quoting and proposal process
- Execute the delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer defined timeframes
- Effectively engage with Company management, business development staff, engineering, finance, contracts, and program management teams to develop and execute capture plans for new and existing business with customers
- Manage a team focused on executing the strategic growth for Sypris in the Defense & Aerospace industry
- Maintain intimate knowledge of government procurement processes and requirements
- Understand Sypris offerings for vertical and horizontal capabilities and advise customers appropriately
- Support business development’s due diligence and analysis required to assess the viability and compatibility of RFQ / RFPs prior to presenting them to management for consideration.
- Administers all Human Resources programs and policies (including selection, promotion, transfers, salary administration and termination) without regard to race, religion, sex, national origin, age or handicap)
- BS degree in a technical field or Project Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Hands-on business development experience with a minimum of 8 years of proven advanced development proposal experience in the Defense & Aerospace industry; a background in the high reliability contract manufacturing market and knowledge of the products and technologies involved is preferred
- An entrepreneurial, seasoned, and advanced development proposal manager with a successful win rate for proposals developed and delivered
- Must be able to plan and direct multiple efforts in the sales pipeline, while meeting proposal product deliveries
- Strong business and financial acumen developed through a combination of education and experience
- Ability to demonstrate relationship building skills and be comfortable interacting with professionals at all organizational levels
- Effective communication, presentation, and business writing skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
- Knowledge of electronic design, development, and manufacturing is preferred
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and either possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Government granted security clearance
