Job Description
This position is responsible for supervising personnel, including Team leads, in the Warehouse.  The incumbent directs and coordinates the activities in the Warehouse to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.  Additionally, the incumbent oversees shipping/packaging processing, receiving processing, and coordinates the stocking/movement transactions of materials.
  • In coordination with the Director of Supply Chain Management, directs the development and implementation of activities in the Warehouse area(s) to meet business goals including production, quality, and cost objectives. Proactively plans manpower based on production schedules.
  • Oversees Receiving/Shipping processing and coordinates the stocking/movement transaction of materials.
  • Oversees all activities related to order fulfillment including the daily picking and delivery of part kits to production preparation areas.  
  • Oversees the return to stock process ensuring the accuracy of recount and ERP restocking transactions.
  • Trains, coaches and monitors the performance of the Warehouse personnel.
  • Responsible for proper warehouse layout and material flow from receiving to production as well as material location accuracy.
  • Directs cycle count activities.  Uses cycle count results to drive root cause and corrective action for variances in inventory to provide greater inventory accuracy and improved customer service.  
  • Assists outside departments with resolving issues or potential issues that are related to the warehouse.
  • Uses ERP system at an intermediate level or higher to ensure transactional integrity of warehouse orders and material movement transactions.  Maintains warehouse parameters in item master. 
  • Ensures that all warehouse activities are in compliance with all ISO standards and procedures.
  • Ensures warehouse cleanliness throughout utilizing 5S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain).
  • Drives continuous improvement regarding products and processes in conjunction with Production Engineering and Production Planning personnel to improve floor flow and processes.
  • Monitors export-import activity for the Company to ensure full compliance with the ITAR, EAR, US Treasury and Customs regulations.
  • Ensures Shipping Department employees are properly certified in Hazardous Materials Regulations as related to shipping and handling as well as processing hazardous materials shipments for transportation, as required.
  • Observes/enforces safety rules and maintains warehouse personnel time and attendance through automated labor reporting system.
  • Role models the appropriate supervisory behaviors (change leadership, communication, teamwork, mutual respect, etc.) required in developing and maintaining a positive work environment in which all employees feel valued.
  • Effectively manages and performs to department budget commitments.
  • Assists with all Human Resources programs and policies (including selection, promotion, transfers, salary administration and termination) without regard to race, religion, sex, national origin, age or handicap.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • A minimum five year’s warehouse supervision experience in an Aerospace/Medical electronics manufacturing environment
  • AA/AS Degree preferred
  • Intermediate or higher level ERP systems knowledge
  • Forklift certification
  • ITAR and US Customs regulations/requirements knowledge
  • Possession of or the ability to obtain a Government granted security clearance
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Inter, intra-department and external contact required
