Description

Quality Assurance Tester Intern:

  • will directly contribute to the product quality of assigned product line(s) by testing and reporting defects of new and updated software programs
  • is assigned to one product line fulltime and may be assigned to other products as backup

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Essential Duties:

  • Executes manual test cases
  • Reviews test scripts/cases
  • Run SQL scripts as directed by mentor.
  • Learns new software as assigned.
  • Reports defects found during testing or reported by Technical Support
  • Participates in daily stand up meetings for assigned product line
  • Possesses good verbal and written communication skills.

 

SECURITY AND PRIVACY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Individuals working for DSS will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills:

Required:

  • Prioritizes, manages time well and is detail oriented
  • Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify software defects and Data errors.
  • Is independent, self-motivated, proactive and results oriented
  • Possesses proven aptitude for understanding software technical process
  • Works well with internal supporting teams (DEV, DBA, Project Management, QA)
  • Has verifiable experience with Microsoft Office Products

Education:

  • Junior or Seniors with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Systems Management
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or better

Required:

  • Currently in college with intent to graduate with Computer Science related degree

Experience:

Required:

  • Up to 1 year experience in a similar role or related position (consideration will be given to new grads, trainees, Veterans with appropriate educational credentials and/or DSS experience)
