Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to plan, organize, and manage activities related to manufacturing (fabrication, operations, and assembly).

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

  • Drive continuous improvement through use of Root Cause Corrective Action tools and the implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Improve performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and personnel, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Review production schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning staffing requirements, work procedures, and work assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Set and monitor production standards to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality, are delivered on time, and meet budget requirements.
  • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control reporting systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.
  • Prepare and maintain production and status reports.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, observes and follows safety policies, wears appropriate and prescribed personal protective equipment as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.

Reporting Relationship

  • Reports to the Director of Operations, Entertainment Systems

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor of Science Degree plus a minimum ten (10) years manufacturing experience encompassing fabrication, assembly, and test; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years management/supervisory experience
  • Fundamental understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Flow/Cellular manufacturing
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft or other ERP systems
  • Understanding of the logic of MRP and operations scheduling
  • Working knowledge of Enovia or similar document management software.

PREFEERD

  • Experience managing multi-site operations
  • Understanding of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles and practices
