ABOUT THE TEAM:

FIS is looking for a Cloud Architect to join our IST Development Team in Toronto, Canada. Other locations in the US may also be considered. This position will work with our Application Architects to move our current IST payment applications into Cloud environments and enhance the application into a more cloud native solution. Will also interface with our FIS internal cloud team to make sure the cloud architecture is in line with FIS policies and cloud strategies.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

Porting current IST applications to Cloud environments, building a highly available, reliable, secure and scalability solution which can be deployed for uses within FIS or within our clients' cloud environment. Defining Cloud architecture and strategy to evolve the IST payment application in the cloud.

  • Design and develop highly available, scalable, secure, high performance payment system solutions in Cloud environments, predominantly in Microsoft Azure but knowledge of other cloud providers also helpful.
  • Deployment of applications into cloud environments using Terraform
  • Microservice based solutions in Kubernetes (AKS) or docker, autoscaling.
  • Monitor cloud-based solutions such as ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk
  • Communication and networking in cloud environments
  • Sizing and costing of cloud infrastructure and environments
  • Participate in the design of automation architecture for cloud delivery in Azure and AWS
  • Collaborate with software engineers to understand their requirements and assist them consuming CI/CD infrastructure tools
  • Make independent design and architectural decisions without supervision
  • Proactively identify, mitigate and resolve technical risks and issues
  • Interface with stakeholders at several levels, from executive management to technical staff, to provide advanced technical leadership and to report status on ongoing initiatives

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Cloud-based experience, including experience working with Azure, AWS or similar technologies
  • Knowledge of Terraform other cloud deployment tools
  • In-depth knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles including waterfall and Agile.
  • Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model driven design-based tools and techniques including conceptual solution component models, business process models, use cases, etc.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
  • Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
  • Positive outlook, strong work ethic and responsive to internal and external customers and contacts
  • Willingly and successfully fulfills the role of teacher, mentor and coach
  • Hands-on expert in several technologies or technical areas
  • Can quickly learn and apply new technologies
  • Analyze current technologies used within the company and determine ways to improve
