Staff Software Test Engineer Job Details:

ARA Emerald Coast Division is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support the development of the Joint Anti-Air Combat Effectiveness (J-ACE) tool used by Top Gun and other military aviators, mission planners, and analyst. J-ACE is a gaming-type simulation (aircraft models + missiles) that runs "under the hood" in every fighter squadron in America. J-ACE can evaluate overall weapon system effectiveness from weapon launch through target intercept, displaying results in a graphical 3D environment.

Staff Software Test Engineer Job Description:

The candidate will work as part of a team responsible for producing the Joint Antiair Combat Effectiveness (J-ACE) tool. As part of the Production/Test Team they will assist with the production and testing of the both Windows and Linux products. An understanding of the air-to-air combat, as well as experience within DoD software development/testing is a plus! We are an Agile, CMMI Level 3 team. Applicants must be a United States citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance.

Staff Software Test Engineer Job Duties include:

  • Production/Test Team member
  • Produce, test and maintain configuration management for multiple product version across different platforms
  • Manage product production infrastructure, build planning, build execution, and product creation
  • Manage product testing infrastructure, test planning, test execution, and test documentation
  • Support Technical Previews with the customer by performing requirements tracking via an automated RVM tool and updating software test plans, software test descriptions, and software test reports

Staff Software Test Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related experience

Staff Software Test Engineer Required Skills:

  • Must be able to work well within a team environment and able to adapt quickly to change
  • Must be organized and hard-working with good attention to detail
  • Experience utilizing content management (CM) tools, such SharePoint
  • Good writing and verbal presentation skills
  • Active SECRET clearance (or eligible to receive clearance)

Additional consideration for:

  • Building and testing large C++ applications
  • Using application lifecycle management tools, such as Jira
  • Creating, evaluating, and maintaining test cases
  • Performing GUI, regression, batch, unit, manual, and security testing
  • Helping produce test-related CDRLs (RVM, STP, STR, etc.)
  • Using build automation tools such as CMake, unit testing libraries such as Google Test, and GUI testing tools such as SQUISH
  • Performing CM for multiple product version across Windows and Linux platforms
