Position Overview

C&S Companies is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to be based in either our Tampa or Orlando office. This is a great opportunity for an individual to join our civil engineering practice. This candidate will work on multi-disciplinary teams to perform site/civil infrastructure design for public and private development and aviation clients. Responsibilities include field data collection, analysis, and development of engineering plans using CAD software and 3D models, and preparation of engineering reports, specifications, and cost estimates. Additionally, candidate will participate in business development efforts. As part of our dynamic Civil & Infrastructure team, you will manage projects and project teams related to civil design, while working under the general guidance of a principal. This opportunity includes the potential to build and lead our civil practice in Florida. Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates. Occasional travel will be required.

Position Responsibilities

  • Development of engineering plans, specifications and 3D models for civil design projects
  • Project Management of civil design projects, including financial management.
  • Participate in business development efforts to build the civil practice
  • Coordination with teammates both in Florida and New York offices.
  • Utilize safe work practices in accordance with federal, state, local, and company standards.
  • Communicate incidents, accidents, near misses, potential hazards, and unsafe working conditions to a supervisor or the Health and Safety Department as soon as identified.

Skills/Education/Experience

  • 10 years' experience in civil design / stormwater analysis and design
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida with minimum 5 years experience working in Florida
  • Candidate shall have experience design and permitting with the following water management districts in Florida: St. Johns River, Southwest Florida and South Florida
  • Candidate shall have site civil experience specifically working with municipalities in central Florida.
  • Strong communication skills with a growth mindset
  • Proficiency in CAD software and 3D models
  • Skills to succeed in small and large multi-disciplinary team environments
  • Experience with marketing and winning work required

Estimated Compensation Range: $100,000-$120,000/year*

*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
