About the role

Location- St. Petersburg FL

We are seeking a Laborer at our metals operation to perform various hands-on tasks required for the upkeep, maintenance and operation of the plant and its component equipment. The position reports directly to the Site Supervisor but will support both the maintenance and operations team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Performing general housekeeping of the facility, including cleaning and moving material
  • Assisting with maintaining metals processing equipment
  • Inspecting incoming metals remove as appropriate
  • Having the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Following all company procedure and safety policies
  • Performing other duties as assigned by site supervisor

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience working in an OSHA regulated work environment strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of safety and standard operating procedures is required
  • Must be able to use job tools (air lances, refuse hooks, rakes, brooms, shovels, etc.) as provided

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The Successful Candidate must be able to work their entire shift in basic personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, long sleeves, gloves, steel boots and hearing protection, as well as a respirator as needed
  • They will be expected to work outdoors in a landfill environment in all weather conditions
  • The needs of this role may require the ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • On certain occasions, kneeling, crawling, stooping, bending or twisting for extended periods of time may be required
  • Walking and/or standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and walking on elevated platforms or scaffolding may be required
