Reporting into the Vice President, Gateway and Clearinghouse Products, the Product Director, Intelligent Gateway is responsible for leading and executing Availity's product strategy for our gateway product assets. Availity's Intelligent Gateway product line is a component of Availity provider engagement platform and our payer-provider network. Processing billions of real-time and batch transactions per year, the Gateway connect thousands of provider and provider vendor submitters to Availity's directly connected payer network. This product line facilitates the exchange of critical information needed from verifying eligibility and benefits, to healthcare authorizations, to claims management and final provider reimbursement. The Gateway's focus on interoperability within healthcare standard formats and protocols enables seamless integration with PM/EMR, revenue cycle management, emerging and many other various healthcare entities.

The Product Director, Intelligent Gateway will focus on driving Provider and Vendor engagement and long-term value creation for our payer gateway customers. They will lead product innovation, manage the strategic roadmap, assure customer value, and drive commercial results. The successful candidate will have deep subject matter knowledge and be market facing, spending time with Health Plans identifying pervasive unmet needs, collaborating on solutions, and growing customer adoption and growth. The Product Director, Intelligent Gateway will work across the business to promote and identify new opportunities to add value to our platform, complete business cases and support our growth objectives and manage the key aspects for the portfolio P&L, determine and prioritize investments, guide development of new capabilities with client/stakeholder input, and ensure that the value is communicated and recognized throughout the organization and the market.

To be qualified for this position you:

  • 10 years of experience managing in managing health information products with at least 5 years in leadership role.
  • Proven success in managing healthcare software solutions from inception to launch.
  • Knowledge of pain points and experience innovating solutions to support digital engagement between health plans and healthcare providers to reduce costs, streamline and remove waste from administrative processes.
  • Knowledge of health data standards including HIPAA / x12 / FHIR and experience in ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Experience driving digital adoption and delivering ROI through integrated digital solutions.
  • Knowledge of Product Development Lifecycle and experience in managing financial performance and developing business cases, market/product requirements, product strategy and roadmaps, pricing, and launch materials and monitoring and improving client and user satisfaction through NPS and other metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage the market to surface unmet needs and opportunities and communicate our product vision in a compelling way.
  • Proven track record of driving sustainable growth of interoperability / EDI products.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization and to facilitate remote multi-stakeholder teams in decision making.
  • Builds trust, respect and durable agreements with internal and external team members, business partners and customers.
  • Comfort with being a change agent.
  • Willingness to explore and champion innovative approaches to meet customer needs and gain market success.

You will set yourself apart with:

  • Deep expertise in provider digital engagement strategies and collaboration with a focus on interoperability
  • Prior experience managing healthcare clearinghouse, payer gateway, revenue cycle management or similar products
  • Market thought leadership through prior engagement with WEDI and X12 or similar industry groups
  • Pragmatic Marketing Certification (PMC)
  • Master's Degree and / or an advanced degree in healthcare, Product Management, or related field

You will be:

  • Managing the Intelligent Gateway product line to enable collaboration between Payers and Providers to in support of efficiently administering healthcare. Developing and executing the product strategy, managing the strategic roadmap, and ensuring cross-functional alignment to deliver and monetize products.
  • Engaging with the market to understand unmet pervasive market needs and collaborating on new solutions to deliver value and drive growth.
  • Extending the growth and scale of mature product line ensuring all factors of a go to market strategy are enacted to open up new markets and/or increase existing market share.
  • Driving cross-team innovation and enterprise thinking to actively seek opportunities for growth through product line extensions, market expansion, partnerships, channel expansion, and operational/cost improvements to existing products.
  • Developing market insights by maintaining close relationships with the market for awarenessof market needs. Working with Marketing, Sales, and others as they identify appropriate markets and develops effective strategies and tactics for reaching them.
  • Owning the Go-To-Market strategy and assisting sales in their interactions with prospects and users.
  • Collaborating with Market Research to strategize, plan, and prioritize market, product, and subject matter research that identify and define opportunities to support and grow business. Specifying market requirements for current and future products supported not only by research, but also through ongoing visits to customers and non-customers.
  • Monitoring costs and resource commitments and creating reporting to ensure internal stakeholders and Senior Leaders are informed on the financial status as well as delivery of the product(s).
  • Actively evaluating potential partners that could aid in delivery of applicable product(s). Actively assisting in managing such partners to ensure success of product(s).
  • Improving client and user satisfaction by monitoring feedback (NPS and other), understanding issues and opportunities and developing and implementing mitigation plans.
  • Owning product metrics, progress, user experience and operational outcomes and regularly communicating outcomes against product goals to drive iterative improvements.
  • Collaborating and influencing across the Availity matrix organization to align the activities of product, marketing, IT, sales, and service teams and their leaders to deliver the product(s).
  • Ensuring technical feasibility, architectural alignment, scale, and performance of solutions by engaging with technology leaders.
  • Attending industry and client facing events where you will represent Availity and share thought leadership, the value of Intelligent Gateway products, return on investment and a compelling vision of our innovation roadmap.
