Job Description

Dewberry's Orlando office is seeking a Construction Administrator to provide complete construction administration for site civil construction activities. This position requires a general knowledge of site design. Construction Administration includes conducting site visits, monitoring contractor(s) schedule, verifying construction documents and approving shop drawings, and handling any questions that may arise during the construction phase. The Construction Administrator will make field visits as required and attend meetings; and represent Dewberry at meetings, interpret and support our designs.

Responsibilities
    Prepare cost estimates
  • Coordinate and facilitate bid process for construction plans.
  • Attend the Pre-Construction Meeting
  • Organize, attend, and document construction meetings. Take and distribute good meeting minutes, photos, field reports.
  • Conduct construction site inspections to verify conformance with plans and code
  • Review pay applications.
  • Organize and maintain project files during construction.
  • Obtain and review and comment on as-built drawings and close-out materials from contractors.
  • Prepare final certification documentation.

Required Skills & Required Experience

Accomplished (at least 5 years of experience) Construction Professional (Engineer or Contractor) in site construction.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with experience specializing in construction/engineering management. Experience in field of construction or cost estimating is acceptable.
  • Knowledge of the use of AutoCAD or MicroStation, Excel and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to interpret private construction plans as well as public roadway plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • Ability to understand, review and markup shop drawings and as-built surveys.
