Territory: Florida, Alabama, South/North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia, Georgia (candidates must reside in territory)

Travel: 50-75%, including overnight travel

What you'll be doing

As the Specialist, Surgical Infrastructure - Medical Capital Equipment you will drive the generation of capital products within Baxter's Surgical Solutions' product categories (lights, booms, and Helion video integration) and partnership sales within your region. In collaboration with clinical and specialty sales partners, you'll develop and implement sales strategies that deliver comprehensive solutions to customers., maintain strong business relationships and high levels of happiness with prospective and existing customers.

  • Capture new accounts and enhance performance in existing accounts.
  • Conduct negotiations with customers to finalize sales.
  • Achieve sales goals across all infrastructure product categories.
  • Demonstrate year-over-year backlog growth: Uncover green-field opportunities and high-dollar renovations within your assigned region.
  • Collaborate with internal sales and service partners to seamlessly serve shared accounts: Provide local support for strategic Enterprise Accounts Team initiatives across major IDNs.
  • Coordinate customer sales support activities: Lead customer business reviews and architectural drawing discussions. Present infrastructure products to a diverse audience including Administrators, Surgeons, Biomedical Engineers, Architects and Equipment Planners. Coordinate Customer Experience Center and service Center visits, as appropriate.
  • Ensure post-sales customer happiness and enhance perceived Return on Investment: Oversee the installation of new products. Provide basic training and follow-up to ensure customers are satisfied and realize the intended benefits of the partnership with Baxter. Participate and drive a smooth hand-off meeting with Baxter Solutions' project management and customer.
  • Maintain industry and product knowledge: Keep abreast of current health care trends and technology. Clearly articulate the economic benefit for the hospital, detailed functionality and benefit offering of each product line, how each product is best applied to meet emergent customer needs and the benefits products will provide to both the patient and caregivers.
  • Serve as product-specific authority within the infrastructure space.
  • Information management: Filter appropriate and pertinent feedback to marketing and R&D. Accurately forecast regional infrastructure orders and revenue. Primary owner of RFP responses involving large infrastructure deals. Plan, coordinate, and deliver mock room presentations.

What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of operating room sales experience (medical device capital equipment experience preferred), OR 9+ years relevant experience.
  • Proven experience selling in the health care field; Durable Medical Equipment highly preferred
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, both verbally and written
  • Variable travel throughout region up to 75% - 100% of work week
  • Strong analytical skills- able to effectively track sales activity, develop sales plans, understand local market and competitive trends and complete the analysis of sales deals
  • Eye for business - able to understand customer economic drivers, structure sales deals, reach pivotal agreements within the sales cycle
  • Effective influencing skills -ability to understand the needs of, and influence, personnel ranging from nurses to C-level decision makers

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $68,000 to $156,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for commission.
