Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Machine Operator (Night Shift) to be based out of Tampa, FL. This person will set up and operate an extrusion machine according to established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. The operator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Will report to the Manufacturing Shift Lead. Bilingual is a plus.

What you'll do:

• Measure the dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
• Adjust controls to meet specified measurements and diameters. Record hourly pipe readings such as weights, wall thickness, diameter, and length. Reject products not meeting specifications.
• Ensure production materials are available

• Operate and observe machinery during production.

• Identify acceptable or unacceptable product quality to customer requirements and quality standards

• Collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers to achieve productivity and site goals

• Adhere to all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions immediately

What you'll bring:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Machine Operator
• Machine operation or mechanical skill set experience.
• Knowledge of steel or manufacturing processes desired.
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted

Within 3 months, you'll bring:

• Complete any required training

• Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.

• Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
