TITLE: IT & Audio-Visual Support Manager

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

SUPERVISOR: Director of Finance

SUMMARY:

The IT & Audio-Visual Support Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of technological systems and audio-visual services within the hotel property. This position involves overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and support of IT infrastructure, as well as managing audio visual operations for events and daily hotel functions. The incumbent will provide technical assistance, coordinate equipment setup, and uphold exemplary customer service standards. Additionally, this role may require off-hour assistance as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

IT Support:

  • Ensure the maintenance and support of on-site hotel computer networks, systems, software applications, and users.
  • Provide help desk support for hotel property, addressing issues related to hosted applications, systems, and services.
  • Conduct basic computer training for hotel staff on network functions and applications.
  • Manage the procurement and inventory of on-site equipment, ensuring the availability of essential technological resources.
  • Manage the hotel's High-Speed Internet Systems and ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure backup systems are operational, data is protected, and recovery practices are tested regularly.
  • Monitor and enhance hotel network security measures.
  • Perform scheduled server and hardware maintenance tasks and participate in off-hour responses to network issues.
  • Travel as required to construct computer networks, repair systems, or deploy technology.
  • Generate, review, and update technician and end-user support materials as necessary.
  • Ensure that all necessary "fishing" training and standards are maintained and completed as required.
  • Oversea and lead the training for any software system changes.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.

Audio Visual Management:

  • Manage audio visual operations for events and daily functions within the hotel.
  • Coordinate equipment setup and provide support during banquet events in need of audio-visual services.
  • Attend BEO (Banquet Event Order) meetings to understand audio-visual requirements and expectations.
  • Train, mentor, and coach direct reports to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct equipment inventory checks and maintain quality control standards.
  • Understand financial reports to inform and facilitate process and profit improvement.
  • Promote exemplary customer service to facility customers/partners and end-user clients.
  • Maintain a professional image and ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Complete all required daily paperwork and participate in necessary on-site training.
  • Handle the selling and correspondence with clients regarding audio-visual services.
  • Prepare End of Month reports detailing revenue collected from AV services and all associated costs, including labor, to evaluate profitability.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred in relative field.
  • Three years' experience with in-house audio-visual services preferred.
  • Background in music, recording, audio visual, computers, or related technology fields preferred.
  • Written, verbal, and comprehension skills in English required. Fluency in a second language is helpful.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Must have finger dexterity to operate office and audio-visual equipment as needed.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills must be demonstrated.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Requires physical mobility, including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, climbing, crawling, grasping, writing, repetitive motions, bending, listening, with applicable hearing and vision ability.
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and high pressure, with excellent problem-solving skills.
