LOCATION - Hybrid: Orlando, FL or St. Louis, MO

As part of our investment in our employees, this role is eligible to participate in Tepa's Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 2 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 2 days per week; work in-office at least 3 days per week).


ABOUT THE JOB

Tepa Companies is actively seeking a Civil Project Engineer to assist project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects. As a Civil Project Engineer, you will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in site development design for grading, drainage, sewer, water, erosion control, and road design
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and field personnel involved in the design, modification, analysis, and constructability
  • Work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction related issues
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing of proposals, contracts, or cost estimates
  • Support efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget
  • Interface with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications for client recommendations
  • Assist in coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of utility engineering work
  • Research available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to utilize for the execution of required project designs
  • Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program required
  • Engineer-In Training certification preferred
  • 0-3 years of engineering experience within the civil engineering and design industry
  • Previous Federal Government project design experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge in standard civil engineering techniques, principles, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., MicroStation, Civil 3D), and civil analysis programs
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Must possess a government-issued Common Access Card (CAC) or qualify to pass background check for the purpose of obtaining a CAC
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities and short deadlines
