Position Summary: The Maintenance Team Leader (MTL) is responsible for providing strong leadership, direction, communication and ensure that employee safety is the primary objective. In addition, the Maintenance Team Leader position is accountable for ensuring the day-to-day operations of efficient, cost-effective bread production. The position may also require personnel scheduling, time/attendance, and vacation scheduling.

Job Duties:

* Ensure that all jobs are performed safely.
* Assist with the coordination of Plant Safety Programs.
* Assign and follow up on work assignments.
* Ensures work is executed as scheduled and performance results are satisfactory, if not, report to obstacles to COC.
* Ensure the team is trained in the SAP Work Order process.
* Ensures the team associates enter work orders to cover 75% of actual work per shift in SAP. Must be completed each day before going home.
* Promotes a positive and pro-active work environment.
* Provides all requestees with courteous and respectful customer service.
* Instill a sense of urgency to equipment repairs and coordinates manpower efficiently.
* Trains and provides accountability for submission of parts requests for the team to include:
o Research, pictures, cross references, quantities, priority and any data for purchasing associate to complete the order process.
o Communicates the status to the rest of the department
o Provides recommendation for stock and quantities to stock.
* Communicates daily job status reports to the next shift, indicating those completed by the end of the shift and those expected to carry over.
* Communicate issues by phone call or text message to COC when down time exceeds 30 minutes without a solution.
* Communicate by phone call or text message issues to COC when down time exceeds 60 minutes with a solution.
* Provide recommendations for improving work procedures and plans.
* Determine root causes of major repairs and implement the necessary corrective action to prevent recurrence.
* Maintain maintenance shop and equipment (5S).
* Ensure the assigned mechanics understand their roles and responsibilities and evaluates results through KPIs.
* Submits requests for and catalogs tools each associates needs and is responsible for.
* Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Job Complexity:
* Floater - Provides support for associates assigned to each line.
* Temporary re-assign associate to support another area if necessary.
* Maintain food safe environment by enforcing all safety, GMP, etc.
* Perform performance reviews with team associates twice a year.
* Assist in training new associates and coach existing associates.
* Leads and encourages Continuous Improvement for equipment assigned to each line.
* Lead RCA efforts to identify root causes of equipment failures and reliability gaps. Identify and implement corrective actions.
* Ensure compliance with local, state and federal air, water and wastewater requirements. Accountable for all maintenance activities of the plant, building and grounds.
* Promote positive employee relations by recognizing employees for exceptional work performance, teamwork, and other contribution that assists our business objectives.
* Immediately reports any personnel issues/conflicts to COC. Suggest progressive discipline when employee behavior warrants.
* Manage contractors to Pepperidge Farm safety standards and work quality.
* Train operators on specific machine operation.
* Work in cross-functional team settings to develop robust TWI breakdown sheets.

Minimum Requirements:
* Associate degree; preferred.
* Interpersonal skills training; preferred.
* One to five years of maintenance leadership experience.
* Equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience in PLC, PC controlled equipment preferred.
* Mechanical knowledge of Conveying systems, Drives, bearings, mechanical comportments, Pneumatics, Hydraulics and troubleshooting all the above.
* Experience in SAP preferred.
* Self-motivation with a strong drive for results; must be able to deliver objectives with only minimal supervision.
* Proven leadership ability; must serve as a role model in the areas of safety, quality, workplace conduct, customer service, attendance, etc. Effective verbal and written skills.
* Computer proficiency is required in Outlook, SAP, Microsoft office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Ability to multi-task and set priorities.

Working Conditions:
* The maintenance leader will be required to work at elevations requiring fall protection such as a safety harness. Other situations may require time be spent in the oven room where temperatures may exceed 120 degrees Fahrenheit. We also are responsible for all equipment on the roof and outside the plant that may fail at any time during the year.
* Overtime may consist of before or after shifts hours, weekends and holidays.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
