We are seeking a Fixed Asset Specialist to join our corporate office located in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely. The Fixed Asset Specialist records all transactions related to fixed assets which includes tracking, depreciating, and disposing existing fixed assets. This position also requires detailed reviews of transactions for proper capitalization with additional responsibilities of reporting fixed asset metrics to internal and external customers.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Review transactional related activity from the weekly unposted report (Property Acquisitions, Impairments, Property Disposals, CIP Transfers, etc.). Create and post Asset Masters for lease and non-lease related assets. Reconcile the fixed assets subledger to general ledger monthly.
  • Approve AP Vouchers in Nexus related to Fixed Assets and review for proper capitalization. Create and upload purchase orders (POs) for deal related costs and update the existing POs as needed.
  • Generate and document depreciation schedules and compute depreciation for all lease and non-lease related assets and prepare month-end depreciation reports (variance analysis, ledger integrity, and SOX control reports).
  • Run disposal program for non-lease related assets (property disposition, property demolition, and write-off from natural disaster, etc.) and validate disposal report.
  • Support internal (Tax, Development Accounting, Joint Ventures, Operations, and Financial Services) and external (Audit) groups with information requests related to Fixed Assets.
  • Perform additional ad-hoc reporting (monthly/quarterly capital expenditures, fix asset roll-forwards, etc.) and analysis related to Accounting & Reporting such as fixed asset impairment analyses and property demolition calculations.

Are You Qualified?

  • Associate's degree required
  • Bachelor's degree in business related discipline preferred
  • 0 - 2 years of experience
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
