The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Learning & Development Specialist works directly with WWP Learning and Organizational Development trainers to design, deliver, and assess learning content and materials in support of internal Human Resources learning & development initiatives and for all aspects of staff training and organizational development programs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and deliver training solutions (face-to-face and virtual) in alignment with WWP's mission, vision, and core values with a focus on human resources and organizational learning and development (e.g., culture, onboarding, engagement, emerging leaders, functional development, and compliance training).

  • Develop training content including job aids, course handbooks, and presentation materials based on needs analyses and stakeholder requirements utilizing the most effective instructional method(s).

  • Create instructor materials (e.g., course outlines, preparatory materials, instructional plans, and training aids).

  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with teammates, leaders, and key stakeholders while working to bring teams to consensus, alignment, and action.

  • Utilize blended learning solutions to provide an engaging approach to learning, development, and knowledge retention and application.

  • Identify and apply appropriate instructional methods, e.g. lectures, demonstrations, conferences, workshops, individual training, or group training.

  • Identify learning success factors and establish measurable program and course objectives.

  • Measure and evaluate training effectiveness, content quality, and participant satisfaction for face-to-face, instruction on-line courses, self-study, and blended learning opportunities.

  • Provide informal guidance and resources, consistent with established confidentiality protocols regarding sensitive information, personal data, etc.

  • Create and maintain instructional materials including facilitator guides, program documents, workbooks, job aids, and other learning resources.

  • Review learning program delivery and provide feedback to peers on training content, facilitation, and materials.

  • Assist with training communications to participants and stakeholders in cooperation with internal communications team as needed.

  • Research and remain current on best practices in learning and development, and related technology. Recommend appropriate applications and processes to improve learning outcomes.

  • Travel to support the facilitation of training, workshops, teambuilding, summits, and special events as assigned.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex ideas, express thoughts and feelings, and communicate effectively with individuals from different backgrounds.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office and related training applications.

  • Good task management, organizational skills, and attention to detail with ability to coordinate resources and work independently or on self-directed tasks.

EXPERIENCE

Requirements

  • Four years of experience delivering or facilitating training.

Preferences

  • Two years of experience designing training content.

  • Two years of experience with Learning Management Systems and learning technology applications.

  • Foundational knowledge of Human Resources responsibilities or duties.

EDUCATION

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • None.

  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD).

  • Associate Professional for Talent Development (APTD).

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM-CP.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • General office environment; temperature controlled.

  • May require lifting up to 25 pounds.

  • Up to 10% travel.
