Overview:

The Floor Technician is responsible for safely performing floor care duties as assigned by management. Quality service is expected to be provided to customers at all times. Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job as it pertains to this position.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Experience:
o Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in floor care or pass the GCE Floor Care Certification Training within the first 90 days.
* Must be able to follow multi-step directions.
* Must be able to interact appropriately with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
* Must be able to perform the essential functions described below safely.
* Must be able to work multiple shifts to include weekends and overtime (OT).
* Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings, as appropriate.

Duties may vary depending on contract specifications and building assignment.

* Perform scrubbing of baseboards, corners, etc.
* Perform sweeping and mopping hard floors, vacuuming carpeted floors.
* Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure it functions properly. Promptly report worn or broken equipment to the supervisor.
* Keep storage/janitorial closets orderly
* Attend in-service training as required.
* Participate in safety meetings.
* Inform Supervisor or Project Manager of the need for supplies and equipment promptly.
* Maintain compliance with required hard floors and carpet care training, including top scrubbing, stripping, and waxing of various hard floor surfaces.
* Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines.
* Perform General Custodian duties when assigned.

Physical Requirements:

May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Most work will take place indoors. May work with cleaning chemicals. Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change. May require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon and/or evening hours as well weekends and Holidays.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds. Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
