Job Summary: Mainline seeks an experienced Services Storage Systems Engineer (SE) to join the Storage group, which is aimed on a diverse portfolio of Storage solutions supporting Open Systems and Backup Solutions. Main responsibility and focus of this position are to deliver Storage and Backup related delivery. The SE must have a strong understanding of IBM, Spectrum Protect, San Volume Controller, Dell/EMC, VAST, Pure, Brocade and Cisco SAN switches and Comparable skills with competitive offerings from STK, HDS, and EMC are desired as well. Knowledge of Brocade MLX and FICON is a plus along with VTL and automated tape libraries.

The Storage Systems Engineer (SE) within the Storage group acts as a trusted advisor to our customer's business and IT challenges. This role provides insight and guidance to customers starting at the sales cycle all the way through the final implementation. This is a billable role.

SE must have strong technical skills complemented by relationship skills and are viewed as a consultant to the customer. They are valued because of their ability to analyze a customer's business and IT challenges and then implement a comprehensive solution that integrates smoothly into the customer's environment leveraging the appropriate products.

The Services Storage System Engineer (SE) role will require a well-rounded individual with a very solid technical background as well as a proven history of successful interaction with customers. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are required. This position requires 25% travel, and the position can be located nationally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must have a strong skillset in backup solutions specifically Spectrum Protect.
• Serve as a Services Storage System Engineer for post-sale activities implementing solutions at client locations nationally.
• Must have strong storage experience with multiple Storage vendors. IBM, Vast, Pure and DELL/EMC
• Perform system-engineering delivery functions with respect to the development of system concepts, and requirements, at the system, software, and hardware levels.
• Installation and implementation of solutions.
• Installation of Hardware and cabling
• Data Migration
• Strong skillset in backup solutions specifically Spectrum Protect.
• Ability to install hardware and connectivity setup.
• Strong experience in performing Firmware upgrades.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Data Migrations
• Ability to troubleshoot difficult technical issues.

Education and Certifications

• BA or BS or equivalent work experience required.
• Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years' experience managing and implementing Enterprise storage and backup solutions.
• Professional certifications are an ongoing requirement. Comparable certifications on competitor's products are equivalent to the IBM certifications.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

• Physical environmental factors of this position include those found in typical business office environment or home office environment.
• Requires use of general office equipment and personal computer equipment.
• Ability to travel. Various means of travel may be required, including auto and air travel. This position requires travel: Occasionally (25%)
• May be required to work irregular schedules including but not limited to as applicable: Nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and/or overtime.
