GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Specialist I, Claims Processing (Lab) processes invoices received from hospitals/independent laboratories. This position ensures the integrity of payments and/or denials issued for all laboratory services provided by nonDaVita Facilities. Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to process large volumes while maintaining a high level of accuracy. This position reports to the Supervisor or Manager, Patient Accounting (Lab).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret vendor invoices and post transaction level detail, approve line item for payment, or deny claims that are ineligible for payment and balance all amounts entered into the database system to vendor invoices
- Prepare invoice for data entry by researching various systems to confirm patient dialyzed at a DaVita facility, assign appropriate facility and fee schedule to the invoice for proper processing
- Research database or related system to identify invoice duplication
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 0-2 years experience needed
- Must have High School Diploma
- Strong 10 key skills by touch preferred. Minimum of 50 wpm typing speed - preferred
- Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel required
- Experience in healthcare industry with provider billing and/or payer experience preferred.
