This position is responsible for performing audits at all RYAM locations. The Manager will lead selected financial, information technology (IT), operational, and compliance audit projects, guide the work of assigned audit team members, coordinate with business unit management, and facilitate the preparation of clear, concise audit reports. Gather and analyze data as necessary to accomplish audit objectives in a timely manner. Develop and foster positive working relationships, focusing on the identification of solutions to issues and improvements in business processes. Clearly communicate issues and pursue effective and timely resolution. Gain an increasing understanding of RYAM's organization, systems and processes, policies and procedures, accounting guidelines and personnel.

How you will shape the future of the Audit Department:

  • Develop audit plans and programs for both SOX and Operational Audits.
  • Oversee audit projects and business process reviews. Provide developmental feedback in a timely manner to less experienced team members.
  • Develop and apply audit methodology to evaluate processes and provide assurance to management that adequate controls are in place and functioning effectively.
  • Review workpapers to ensure key testing discussions, conclusions, and issues are properly documented and supported.
  • Assume responsibility for the review and coordination of day-to-day audit project activities.
  • Perform audit follow-up as necessary to validate effectiveness of corrective actions taken in response to audit recommendations. Provide guidance and coaching to employees when requested on how to comply with audit recommendations.
  • Manage staff and senior workloads to ensure work is being performed efficiently and by the desired due date.
  • Maintain appropriate professional and ethical standards and certifications. Attend trainings and share knowledge on relevant IT & Accounting topics.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

You will be someone who can bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related curriculum, and must be a qualified CPA, CIA, CISA or similar certification is required.
  • Minimum of eight to ten years of relevant experience including five or more years in auditing, preferably with a major accounting firm, or with a public company.
  • Effective communication (oral and written), initiative, accuracy and dependability, and application of good business judgment. Must have strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and audit procedures, be computer literate (particularly Excel), and possess above average interpersonal skills. Knowledge of audit software tools and general ledger systems is desirable. Ability to deal with confidential information and matters.
  • Travel required, approximately 30%.
