Schedule: Full time - Hybrid with scheduled time working in the office

What work will you perform?

In this newly created role, the marketing communications specialist will create, manage and execute marketing communications plans specifically related to the company's identified growth initiatives. As part of the corporate communications team, this role will work closely and collaboratively with subject-matter experts to provide the marketing planning and execution support to meet various goals, including training/education, sales leads and presentations, external communications, etc. The ideal candidate has the perfect mix of plan development and "roll up your sleeves" hands-on execution.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute comprehensive marketing communications plans / campaigns in support of growth initiative objectives, working collaboratively with SMEs.
  • Develop content to be shared across internal and external communications channels.
  • Manage assets/channels related to growth initiatives, including websites, pay-per-click campaigns, email marketing, social media, digital advertising, etc.
  • Support creative development process and manage timelines for marketing plans, deliverables, and campaigns, e.g., messaging, print collateral, website content, presentations, email communications, social media, multimedia assets, advertising, etc.
  • Monitor campaigns and measure effectiveness of activities, in coordination with communications analyst. Develop recommendations to optimize results.
  • Stay up-to-date on related industry trends to ensure best practices are met across all marketing communications platforms.
  • Ensure compliance and consistency with Landstar brand across all channels / marketing initiatives, e.g. messaging/content, visual assets and terminology.
  • Perform proofing of data, content, and design, and provide feedback.
  • Complete invoice processing, budget management and related administrative tasks to ensure functionality of campaigns and coordination of activities.
  • Coordinate and supervise freelance or external communications team, as appropriate, to execute integrated communications.
  • Provide general marketing communications project support for team in relation to strategic initiatives.

Required Minimum Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, journalism, or related discipline
  • 4 years' experience in marketing agency or corporate environment

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • Direct experience in planning and executing multi-disciplined marketing communications campaign(s) over periods of time

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, multi-department team environment.
  • Ability to lead and guide the work of others, including people who work in other departments.
  • Ability to take initiative and responsibility for work.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse personalities.
  • Good reasoning abilities with sound judgement.
  • Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of content management systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
