We are seeking a talented Tool Designer to join our engineering team and play a vital role in developing the tools and equipment that will bring our products to life. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in manufacturing processes and computer-aided design (CAD) software to design, analyze, and create tooling that optimizes production efficiency and quality.

This role is not available for new/future sponsorship or transfer of nonimmigrant work visas.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with peers; translate needs into functional and manufacturable concepts.
  • Oversee the entire design process, from initial sketches to final approval.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to strict safety and environmental regulations.
  • Adapt existing designs to meet evolving requirements.
  • Generate detailed technical drawings, including inspection fixture drawings.
  • Utilize CAD Unigraphic Nx to design new tooling for coating and machining equipment, along with assembly and detail drawings.
  • Analyze existing tooling with CAD Unigraphic Nx and implement improvements.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by sharing designs with colleagues and incorporating their feedback.
  • Develop and test prototypes to validate new design concepts.
  • Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on all new designs.
  • Establish a comprehensive tooling detail database to streamline future design processes.
  • Integrate 3D printability considerations into the design phase.
  • Collaborate with the Tool Room, Manufacturing, and Quality departments to continuously enhance our technical capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant discipline along with 3 years experience as a Tool Designer.
  • Proficient experience using CAD; Siemens NX version 10.0 or higher is preferred.
  • Experience with teamcenter and additive manufacturing is a plus.
  • Excellent working knowledge of blueprints including GD&T.
  • Knowledgeable in 3-D printing design requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in fabrication and machining technologies.
