HDR is hiring a Water Resources Civil Engineer for our Tampa, FL office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design of plans and development of technical specifications for a wide variety of water resources projects, including site layouts, grading and drainage, site utilities and other associated civil engineering activities.
  • Will prepare construction documents including drawings, specifications, and associated design reports or technical memoranda. Responsible for exercising judgment in evaluating, selecting and modifying standard engineering techniques and approaches.
  • Will be expected to manage individual tasks and assist senior engineers with engineering assignments. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to assist writing and reviewing scopes of work and proposals.
  • Travel is required to perform project work on an as-needed basis

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • PE License
  • Experience in design and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • proficient in one or more of the following design areas; site civil design and grading, stormwater design, hydraulic analysis, pump stations, or flood risk management.
  • Experience with design software such as Autocad Civil3D, HEC-RAS, ICPRv4, HydroCAD, and XPSWMM
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments is expected.
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the United States on an as-needed basis.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience is preferred
  • Strong leadership and organization skills a strong plus
  • Demonstrable experience with performing analysis, design, reporting, and drawing production independently on multiple assignments.
  • Field experience related to civil construction is preferred.
