We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Director, Total Rewards to join our dynamic human resources team. You will play a critical role in developing and implementing our Total Rewards strategy to attract, retain, and motivate our talented workforce. In this role, you will oversee our Total Rewards program including Executive compensation, benefits programs, payroll operations as well as HRIS/ systems and analytics in line with our strategic direction, culture, and business objectives.

Responsibilities for Director, Total Rewards

  • Designs, executes, and implements compensation, equity, and benefits programs based on FARO's business strategy, culture and market practices.
  • Partners and consults with key stakeholders (C-suite, key business unit, and human resources leaders) to recommend compensation program enhancements.
  • Leverage knowledge of market conditions and competitive talent landscape while driving fairness and compliance in pay practices, policies, and payroll.
  • Prepares materials, agenda, and planning for the Talent Development & Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Provides input into compensation-related filings and compensation disclosures.
  • Leads a Total Rewards COE (Center of Excellence) responsible for executing compensation, benefit & recognition programs, and special projects in all countries for which FARO operates.
  • Manages and coordinates applicable vendor relationships for the execution of plans and programs.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics to understand effectiveness of the total rewards strategy. Benchmarks, aligns and improves FARO's global benefits footprint through strategic direction, process improvement, cost management, and identifying appropriate opportunities for change or investment.
  • Provides broad governance and leadership of retirement programs, including fiduciary oversight of the US 401k plan, and interfaces with providers, brokers, auditors.
  • Ensures that accurate estimates, forecasts, and calculations of expenditures in compensation align with budget planning and tracking.
  • Drive employee awareness and understanding of all compensation and benefits programs.
  • Collaborate and partner with regional HR and business leadership to understand critical concerns in attracting, motivating, and retaining high-quality talent and design programs that drive pay for performance.
  • Partners with local HR teams to ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Serves as a single point of contact for senior leaders within the organization to provide information and consultation on their total rewards package.
  • Drive the HR Operations and HR Technology strategy for FARO.
  • Assists in the due diligence analysis for mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions.
  • Leads and develops a team of 4-5 resources primarily focused on compensation, benefits, HR Operations, HR Technology & Payroll (Americas).

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the HRIS, HR Operations & Payroll (Americas) teams to drive effective utilization of technology across FARO, ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Up to 25% travel required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 12+ years of compensation, benefits, and equity design experience, preferably with a publicly listed company or a leading consulting firm.
  • Prior experience with equity design and administration.
  • Expertise in designing and administrating incentive compensation programs, including short-term, long-term, and equity programs.
  • Strong executive compensation experience, preferably in a publicly traded company.
  • Strong experience leading and implementing complex projects across global organizations.
  • Ability to partner and understand points of view from multiple disparate stakeholders (e.g., HR, Finance, Legal, Executive team) while balancing the art and science of compensation and benefits to see beyond the numbers and drive for alignment on what's best for the business.
  • Proven analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with competing demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong executive presence, critical thinking, and the ability to manage and lead through change.
  • Prior experience in legal entity set up and country total rewards program implementations.
  • Expert at Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using compensation and HR systems (Workday, Fidelity, etc.)
  • Sound understanding of financial statements and financial metrics.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations and legislation that impacts executive total rewards programs & payroll domestically and internationally.
