Job Summary:

The Creative Services Center of Excellence creates compelling and transformative visual solutions for print and digital environments. Motivated by our unending focus on innovation, collaboration, the BDO brand, and leading marketing and design trends, we develop and execute the compelling visual deliverables that help BDO stand apart.

The Creative Services Visual Design Specialist plays an important role in helping our teams build and design impactful experiences tailored for its target audience. The Visual Design Specialist is responsible for collaboratively crafting engaging visual layouts and messaging in the form of presentations, reports, and digital experiences to be shared with clients and used for events, trainings, and other speaking engagements. This position requires strong communication skills, creative adaptability, and the ability to produce high-quality work in a deadline-oriented environment.


Job Duties:

  • Serves as a strategic internal design resource to marketing professionals, industry groups, and business lines with regard to integration of visual identity and key brand messages - may include client and prospect presentations, pitch books, training materials, digital/web-based interactive experiences, and reports/publications
  • Collaborates with other team members and internal clients to establish an effective vision for a deliverable or design and create a visual concept by studying or researching information and materials
  • Illustrates visual concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts
  • Maintains, modifies, and develops master PowerPoint templates and deliverables for diverse needs
  • Creates custom charts, graphs, tables, icons and other infographics
  • Supports the maintenance of internal, editable PowerPoint graphics resources
  • Reviews, edits, and drafts engaging copy and messaging for presentations and other, related deliverables as needed
  • Employs color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various interactive, print, and layout techniques when designing, all aligned with established firm brand standards
  • Reviews, edits, and drafts engaging copy and messaging for presentations and other, related deliverables
  • Obtains approval of concept according to national marketing protocol and defined processes
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies
  • Works with external agencies and vendors (advertising, PR, graphic design, printing) creating specific deliverables
  • Champions the BDO brand to ensure all marketing and communications reflect the firm's messages, positioning and visual identity
  • Develops tools/resources to communicate corporate visual identity and design processes in alignment with global standards
  • Other duties as required


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, required
  • Major in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Business, Technology, Media, or Journalism, preferred

Experience:

  • One (1) or more years of design or marketing and communications experience, required
  • Experience working within a professional services environment (i.e., accounting, financial consulting, business advisory services and/or banking industries), preferred

Software:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, required
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, required
  • Experience with Adobe, Photoshop, and Illustrator, required
  • Experience with interactive content creation tools, like Ceros, Outgrow, and ContentTools, preferred
  • Experience with Prezi or similar applications, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with content writing and editing
  • Excellent IT skills, especially with design, presentation and photo-editing software
  • Exceptional creativity and innovation
  • Excellent project and time management and organizational skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • An understanding of the latest design and marketing trends and their role within a professional services environment
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously and managing process and service providers (internal and external) to accomplish desired results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills, consultative approach to working with marketing and client service professionals at all levels
  • Strong writing and editing ability
  • Capable to understand and communicate BDO business, marketplace and value proposition
  • Driven self-starter with a proactive approach to serving professionals at all levels in a client-oriented, matrix environment
