Position Summary

The Senior IT Testing Analyst is responsible for the implementation of quality standards for PG&E IT products and services, creating and maintaining documentation for use by development teams, product managers, and business stakeholders. You will work with developers, product owners, and data engineers to set project team delivery standards that focus on quality. You will have a keen understanding of data transformations, data pipelines, and cloud services. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and in person in the Oakland General Office, and San Ramon, on occasion, once per month or based on business needs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill beplaced between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.This job is also eligible to participate inPG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $102,000

Bay Area Maximum: $152,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Engage Product team to outline quality standards.
  • Create test plans for product teams to outline best testing practices.
  • Communicate with the team to create testable acceptance criteria.
  • Write clear and concise technical documentation for a variety of audiences, including technical and non-technical users
  • Work with development team and product managers to share quality standards and testing results with business stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain testing documentation.
  • Stay up to date on latest technologies and trends, industry standards and best practices for test automation and data quality measures.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet strict deadlines.
  • Participate in agile/scrum ceremonies, standup, planning, retro, demo.
  • Willingness to collaborate and/or mentor other Testing Analysts

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a STEM related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience as an IT Testing Analyst
  • Experience with Pytest, ETL data quality and validation testing, AWS and/or Databricks

Desired:

  • ISTQB-International Software Testing Qualifications Board Tester certification
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, able to manage schedule, priorities, and deadlines in support of delivering quality work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to learn new technologies and software
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience or familiarity with energy or utilities industries including safety
  • Experience with a variety of documentation tools and technologies including but not limited to: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel), Adobe
  • Experience with a variety of writing styles and formats
  • Experience working with IT teams, data engineers, product managers and product owners
  • Familiarity with Jira
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and software engineering principles, with an emphasis on data-related development teams
  • Experience with user acceptance testing (UAT), usability analysis, especially in drafting scenarios for use with UAT, and User Experience (UX)
  • Experience with Agile Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) development methodologies
  • At least two years' experience developing learning materials
