Job Description

FloWorks is a leading specialty industrial supplier of pipe, valves, fittings and related products and a provider of technical solutions to the energy and industrial sectors. Privately held company located Houston, Texas.

Summary of Responsibilities

Develop and maintain quality, inspection and testing records and documentation applicable to Sunbelt's product vendors/suppliers. Prepare and issue product non-conformity reports as appliable. Perform product non-conformity investigations and work with the vendor to prepare RCA and CAR reports. Resolve such issues to the satisfaction of the Sunbelt's customers and to Sunbelt Supply.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review complaints received from customers, both internal and external, for the purpose of determining where emphasis should be placed to prevent recurrence.
  • Issue Non-Conforming Product reports and work with the user and supplier to resolve such issues.
  • Develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans or process control procedures that will ensure the finished products meet quality specifications and standards.
  • Conduct research and investigation on product defects and failures and recommend modifications in products, processes, or quality standards where such appear to be warranted.
  • Visit customers and suppliers, when necessary, to confer on specific quality problems. Liaison with customers on items of product quality and reliability.
  • Assist with vendor audits and surveys as required.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Purchasing Department in connection with the purchase of PVF materials, components, subassemblies, etc., that will assue that the final product is correct.
  • Develop and implement methods of qualifying and monitoring vendors.
  • Provide technical guidance and work in close liaison with marketing and sales on projects as needed.
  • Analyze and interpret quality data and publish results.
  • Serve on quality improvement committees and task forces, as required, to enhance and improve the quality of products.
  • Perform various other duties as required by management.
  • Know and understand Floworks Quality Management System requirements, Operating and Technical Procedures and workplace instructions.
  • Comply with all Safety Rules, Environmental Requirements and Company Policies.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years in quality management, supervision or related education, training, management and supervisory experience.
  • Basic understanding of quality programs and statistical quality control techniques.
  • Understanding of the quality audit process and related techniques.
  • Working knowledge of the Pipe, Vave, Flange and Fitting industry quality and product standards and specifications, ISO 9000 series of quality system standards and the implementation, qualification and maintenance of these programs.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers as related to management software uses.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
