POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

The Program Management Specialist, is responsible for the day-to-day redundancy and support of management and welfare of the Reactor Core Over Haul and the products or family of products in early to middle stages of the product life cycle, including low-rate initial production, full-rate production, and long-term product viability and profitability. In this role, the program support specialist will also provide assistance with the rest of the program manager team.

Principal Activities

  • Develops and directs the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards where applicable for the assigned product lines; interprets and complies with all applicable federal and state regulations, i.e. ITAR Sarbanes Oxley, etc.
  • Monitors and directs or performs day-to-day operations of the assigned product lines to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, that goals and objectives are met, and that outside services and internal projects are being accomplished efficiently and effectively; takes corrective action as necessary to ensure program success.
  • Assist with the development and monitoring of the product lines' budgets and oversight of financial well-being of the product lines.
  • Monitors and stays abreast of customer changes that affect the activities and work processes of the program; makes recommendations for, recommends ways to develop and carries out improvements to the line to improve profitability.
  • Confers with and represents the product lines in meetings with other functional areas and fosters collaborative working relationships to the benefit of the product line.
  • Prioritizes and allocates available resources; reviews and evaluates product line requirements and hardware delivery.
  • Performs administrative duties requiring oversight, attention to detail and analysis; aids in strategic planning and financial analysis, including assisting in the preparation of specialized products, budgets, staffing projections, and other operational needs.
  • Provides support to sales and business development representatives in business pursuits and evaluation of commission statements.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.

  • Project management aptitudes, including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts.
  • Sound analytical skills and solution-driven thinking with a questioning attitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across mediums, audiences, and situations.
  • Develop knowledge of and experience working with customer and industry-specific requirements/standards across the product life cycle.
  • Understanding of the workings of mechanical valves, steam, and other products central to the Leslie Controls business.
  • Solid knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project, and other applicable tools.
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and impact change.
  • Well organized.
  • Participative management style - advocates team concept.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to get along well with diverse personalities - tactful - mature - flexible.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive - but able to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities.

Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Management, Sales and Marketing, Engineering or other related areas.
  • 2+ years of progressive product, project and/or program management experience in Navy/Maritime or related market space preferred.
