About the Role

As the Manager of IT- Design Automation, you will be in a key role in the transformation and extension of Watlow's Design Automation (IT) function. This position will own the primary infrastructure and platforms that make Watlow Engineering processes run and will lead a team to provide services to the Global Engineering and Design workforce. This role will have the responsibility for the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Configure Price and Quote (CPQ), Product Data Management (PDM), and CAD systems together with the backend systems that provide everything from authentication and redundancy will be under your leadership. As the manager of the team you will also work closely with other leaders in the business to deliver the technology required to support the ever-changing needs of a fast- growing business. The position is in St. Louis, MO with a hybrid schedule possibility.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, lead, mentor and coach a global team of technical engineers who provide the day-to-day support of the infrastructure and provide level 2 and 3 support for users.
  • Investigate, recommend and implement new technologies that transform how the business operates.
  • Manage relationships and develop new relationships with technology partners while ensuring performance.
  • Ensure the company operates within licensing agreements for infrastructure software.
  • Provide input to the budgeting process.
  • Prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment and possess a high sense of urgency.
  • Responsible for the quality of the solution by ensuring proper testing, standards met, and support of software development life cycle.
  • Review functional and technical design documentation to ensure developers are aligned with functional requirements.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Engineering and Design systems to ensure availability, performance, scalability, and security.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automated processes across platform and application domains.
  • Coordinate and support full cycle implementation, application development, ongoing optimization, and stabilization of applications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or 7-10 years of related experience focused on financial processes and systems.
  • Leadership aptitude.
  • Must be able to travel 25% (estimated).

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Excellent analytic capabilities and inductive thinking to formulate new approaches to highly sophisticated, technically complex problems
  • Exceptional strategic-thinking and planning capability. Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Experience working in a global environment
  • Business systems management experience in Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Cloud Fusion.
  • Team building and management experience in an enterprise solution environment
  • Experience in supporting business applications in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in application design techniques, configuration, and documentation of cloud-based applications.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as in a virtual team environment
  • Proficiency in ITSM tools like Service Now and JIRA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of SQL and ability to demonstrate technical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of data analytical tools such as Power BI or other BI tools.
  • Good knowledge of Agile practices; Agile/DevOps environment working experience.
