Job Description

Job Title: Sprag Grind (Machine Operator / CNC Grind) Department: Aerospace Value Stream Reports To: Value Stream Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt SUMMARY: Will perform operations in the Sprag Grind classification as assigned ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Responsible for operating various cut off and grind equipment within the production process * Set-up, operate, and adjust machine off sets * Monitor machinery and perform in-process quality checks * Read and interpret prints and follow work instructions * Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required. * Must be able to select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on machines. * Determine and report malfunctions to appropriate parties * Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area BASIC REQUIREMENTS: * A High School diploma is required * Demonstrated mechanical aptitude * Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals * Ability to understand and follow work instructions * This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, all applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS * Past work experience in a manufacturing environment * Past experience with grinding or CNC Machine Operations * Proficient blueprint reading skills * Past experience with machine tools and inspection tools such as gauge blocks, dial indicators calipers and micrometers. * Knowledge of shop mathematics and tolerances. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally * use of hand tools and the ability to use material handling devices * Must be able to sit stand for long periods of time as necessary in the work area * Ability to reach and work with arms extended
